SafeCREW videos now available online – see our achievements

Two films present the work and results of the SafeCREW project carried out by 12 partners across Europe. They are available on YouTube in several languages and provide insights into the project’s outcomes.

Safe drinking water is essential for human health and everyday life. In Europe, we are used to turning on the tap and trusting that the water is safe. While water scarcity often receives much attention, climate change can also affect the quality of our drinking water. Changing temperatures, extreme weather events, and new environmental pressures may challenge the systems that supply clean water to millions of people.

Securing future proof drinking water supply – (13 minutes)

Film 2:
Advancing climate resilient drinking water management – (27 minutes)

Our project SafeCREW helps prepare the European drinking water sector for these future challenges. The goal is simple: to make sure that drinking water continues to meet high-quality standards for all EU citizens. To achieve this, our partners support water utilities in developing climate-resilient management procedures for both disinfected and non-disinfected water supply systems.

Twelve European partners are working together to find practical solutions. Their work focuses on several case study sites across Europe, each with its own conditions and challenges. In the video, Hamburg and Berlin in Germany, Milan in Italy, Tarragona in Spain, and western Ukraine will be visited.

These locations represent different climates, water sources, and infrastructure. By studying them, we can better understand how climate change affects drinking water systems and how they can adapt.

We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed working together on the project and creating these films.
