SafeCREW’s sixth projectmeeting in Berlin

From 13th to 14th March 2025, the project team met in person for the sixth time. This time the Kompetenzzentrum Wasser, Berlin and the Umweltbundesamt – German Environment Agency were the hosts and they gave many exciting insights and progress on

  • new monitoring tools for comprehensive water quality characterisation
  • new processes for reducing DBPs
  • strategies for safe drinking water distribution
  • novel risk assessment approaches

One highlight of the meeting was the presence of NUWEE, our Ukrainian partner, who hopped on in May 2025. They presented e.g. a comparison between drinking water regulation in the EU and in the Ukraine. This perspective from Eastern Europe widens knowledge and experience of all partners.

Another highlight has been the visit to the outdoor experimental facilities at the UBA.
