On 23-24 October 2025, the Final Conference of H2OforAll will take place at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. H2OforAll and SafeCREW are two of the founding projects of the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster, both focusing on the safety of drinking water. Both projects focus on the monitoring, evaluation and removal of disinfection by-products.
The conference is organised in three sessions concentrating on research and innovation results on DBPs Sensing and Monitoring, Technologies for DBPs control and Risk Assessment, Prevention Measures, and Policy.

While most of the conference will show the results of our sister project H2OforAll, six SafeCREW partners will contribute. This highlights the synergy potential raised by the European Commission’s clustering inititaive.
SafeCREW coordinator Mathias Ernst (DVGW-TUHH) will present an overview about our project. In Session I, Maolida Nihemaiti (UFZ) and Irene Jubany (Eurecat) talk about their work on the detection of highly polar sulfonated DBPs and about the modelling of DBPs in full scale drinking water distribution networks. Session II starts with an overview about nine of the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster case studies given by Margarete Remmert-Rieper (Tutech), followed by Aleix’s Martorell’s insights into the holistic control of DBPs in a water utily. Aleix Martorell is the operations manager at L’Ampolla, Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona (CAT). Peter Behnisch (BDS) contributes our results towards a safer toxic-free water cycle.
The core of the conference, with about 15 different presentations will of course present the H2OforAll results, e.g. on their Águas de Coimbra case-study and the Central Knowledge Base and we are excited to discuss the outcomes.
We are looking forward to an inspiring event in Coimbra! See you there!
