Stockholm, 25-26 June 2026

The conference organised by SafeCREW project partner BDS – BioDetection Systems will gather industry experts, regulatory authorities and scientists to explore the latest advances in environmental risk assessment and chemical management. A special focus lies on non-animal and effect-based methods (NAM/EBM) for chemicals (e.g. PFAS), pharmaceuticals, plastics (e.g. EDCs), cosmetics and others in the environment, industry and public health.
You are invited to attend and actively partipate (Presentation or Poster) to the 16th BioDetectors Conference 2026 in Stockholm. Keep updated here.
BioDetection Systems b.v. (BDS) is a Dutch company providing bio-based screening technologies for safety, quality and bioactivity assessment.
In SafeCREW, BDS is responsible for the in vitro protocols to establish toxicity profiles for DBP mixtures and treated water. BDS aims to develop novel in vitro alternative non-animal methods for DBP assessment, leading to a new bioanalysis market.
BDS contributed to:
- SafeCREW Policy Brief #1 (1 December 2025): “Advancing NAM/EBM for the Assessment of Disinfection By-Products and Complex Chemical Mixtures in Drinking Water“
- SafeCREW Policy Brief #2 (1 February 2026): “Major Outcomes on Disinfection and Disinfection By-Products and Solutions“
- D1.3 Test protocol for effect-based in-vitro toxicity assessment of disinfection by products – public report
