From 23rd to 26th June, the international conference ecoSTP2025, organized by the International Water Association (IWA) took place in Stockholm, Sweden. SafeCREW PhD researcher Marta Mulet presented the first results of her PhD. Marta’s work on the optimization of the coagulation-flocculation process through predictive models has been conducted at Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona supervised by the University of Girona. It is a key tool to improve the efficiency and sustainability of drinking water treatment plants, such as CAT’s facilities in l’Ampolla.
Marta Mulet:
“It was my first time at such an event, and it turned out to be a truly enriching experience both personally and professionally. I had the honour of presenting the first results of my PhD, which I started less than a year ago. The study I presented is part of the SafeCREW European project, in which I’m lucky to participate. It’s a collaborative project that brings together leading organisations in the water sector and is funded by the European Union.
I’m truly grateful to LEQUIA for their ongoing support and for the opportunity to carry out my PhD, and to the Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona for their trust and collaboration.”
The IWA conference ecoSTP2025 brings together researchers and professionals from the water sector with the aim of discussing cutting-edge technologies in water treatment, including water, energy and materials recovery tools, sustainability and government management mechanisms.
